Welcome to the homepage of the Friends of the Neurandsberg Castle.
On this website we would like to give you an understanding of the Neurandsberg castle, respectively the castle ruin and its changeful history.
It was built as a domicile of one of the eldest noble dynasties in the Bavarian Forest, used as a prison of the dukedom Bavaria and was finally destroyed by the Swedes. Therefore, it remained secluded from the modern world for decades, seated highly above the village Neurandsberg and the principal village Rattenberg.
This is what the Friends of the Neurandsberg Castle would like to change: Their aim is to restore the Neurandsberg Castle and bring it to new splendor.
